This is mostly used on transparent crystals or solid or dark colors like black, etc. It is said to be white but it is the colorless finish. It's more durable than painted parts.

When there are glass in solid colors that are light like yellow, teal, white, etc..... you cant see the etching  and has to be painted black or a solid color to create contrast so that the engraving stands out.

Customizable Glass Etching Service

Sandblasting is a manual process where a film stencil is placed on the surface and the uncovered area is sandblasted. This results in exceptionally sharp, crisp and bright engraving with a smooth finish. This process is permanent and will not fade over time.

Some pieces after this process are painted to highlight the details. I am attaching information about the colors and samples so you can distinguish the difference between them.

If you are requesting commission work, ask which is the best option based on the colors selected.

This process is not recommended for thin glass.
