
Daxel A. Lopez is a Hispanic artist from Moca , Puerto Rico currently living in Clermont, Florida. Dax has a diverse educational background, in 1990 he obtained a BA in Marketing at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. With his education, he founded Dax Art Studio, bringing his skills and ideas to life in 1991. Since then, he has continued to enrich his techniques and art practice by taking a variety of international studio courses in various parts of Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Italy, and the United States. The materials he works with are mainly glass, metal and ceramics, with a focus on the glass medium. Dax utilizes fusion, casting, lost wax, and 3D form casting techniques to create unique glass forms in intricate patterns and colors. He recently has incorporated metal materials through touch cutting, welding, and 2D metal casting to further express depth and dimension to his pieces.
Since Dax was a child, he admired artists and their ability to express feelings through a variety of material. Captured by the endless possibilities of material manipulation, he began to create, manifesting his visions in visual, concrete ways. Through Dax Art Studio he develops unique and innovative sculptural forms between art and product, working in large to small scale sculptures with murals, architectural forms, garden pieces, and recognition awards. Lopez has also been in a handful of group exhibitions, showcasing his work in a variety of artists' spaces.
