Celebrating 20 Years in Florida with a New Artistic Series

In the months of August and September, in honor of my 20th anniversary of establishing operations in the State of Florida, I will begin a very special series of 20 unique pieces.

These works are more than just sculptures — they are part of a personal journey, an artistic challenge, and a creative evolution. Each one will represent another step forward in my development as an artist — a reflection of what I’ve learned, who I am, and where I’m headed.

Under the theme: “Each piece, one step further in my artistic evolution,” this series will go beyond the visual. It is a journey of experimentation with new techniques, fusions, materials, and concepts.

Join me on this path. I’ll be sharing progress, inspiration, and behind-the-scenes moments each week as this new creative chapter unfolds.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

It's been 20 years in the State of Florida

11 Aug, 2025, No comments
On August 5th marks 20 years since I officially established my business in the state of Florida — a milestone that reflects a much longer journey.

My story began at the age of 10, working alongside my brother Victor E Lopez in his workshop in Moca, Puerto Rico. That early experience taught me the value of craftsmanship, dedication, and the meaning behind every piece created to honor achievement.

In 1991, I founded my own business in San Juan, Puerto Rico, driven by a vision to blend art and recognition into something truly unique. In 2005, I brought that same passion to Florida, where I’ve had the honor of serving clients nationwide with handcrafted glass and metal awards, custom sculptures, plaques, and more.

Today, I celebrate not only two decades in Florida, but a lifelong commitment to art, creativity, and the power of recognition.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.

This isn’t a failure

30 Jul, 2025, No comments

At our studio, every piece tells a story — even the ones that don’t go as planned. When the final result isn’t what we envisioned, we break the piece, recycle the glass, add new colors, and start the process again.

This isn’t a failure — it’s part of our commitment to authenticity and excellence. Every creation is one of a kind. Every attempt, a new opportunity to shape meaningful art.

"The López Family": Víctor and Daxel

On July 9, 1975, in Moca, Puerto Rico, we began a dream that has since transformed into a solid, committed, and creative company: our entry into the recognition and award industry. We started under the name "El Esporcito," later evolving into Creative Awards & Plastic, and eventually solidifying our name as Creative Awards Industry. Since then, with responsibility, humility, effort, and great dedication, we have had the privilege of serving thousands of people and major institutions within and outside of Puerto Rico.

We are deeply grateful to God for granting us the creativity, health, commitment, and strength that have enabled us to faithfully serve our clients throughout all these years. From a simple school ribbon for Field Day to the most sophisticated corporate award, each job has been crafted with the same passion and excellence.

We have worked with a wide range of materials and techniques, from manual processes in our early days to the use of advanced technology such as specialized computers since 1985 and laser machinery today. Some of the techniques we use include Sandblast, Sublimation, Screen Printing, Laser Engraving, Injection Molding, and other specialized techniques.

  • Family Legacy and Expansion to Florida

Continuing with the family legacy, my brother Daxel López founded Star Trophies in 1991 on Américo Miranda Avenue in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Later, he established operations in Winter Garden, Florida, and continues his work today in Clermont, FL, under the names:
SUNDAX Florida, Sun Dax Studio, and Dax Art Glass.

His company specializes in manufacturing crystal awards, commemorative medals, pins, bronze plaques, and a wide variety of materials, integrating quality, design, and advanced technology.

We are deeply thankful for the support of our family, who have been an active part of this journey, contributing their time, talent, and commitment at every stage of our business.

We proudly celebrate this significant milestone in our lives and honor our parents, who instilled solid values, responsibility, and honesty in us. Thanks to them, and to everyone who has supported us along the way, we have been able to fulfill this arduous but rewarding mission.

Thank you for allowing us to serve you all these years.

Behind the Scenes: The Mold – Part 1

26 Apr, 2025, No comments
Every great piece of art begins with a foundation—here’s a glimpse into the mold-making process for this meaningful award. Inspired by the legacy of César Chávez, this award is a tribute to perseverance, unity, and social impact.
Each mold is meticulously shaped to ensure the final glass piece embodies the strength and resilience of the individuals being honored. From concept to creation, every step is infused with passion and dedication.
Stay tuned to see the final piece!

Behind the Scenes: Releasing the Mold – Part 2

26 Apr, 2025, No comments
The magic continues! After waiting hours for the plaster to dry, it’s finally time to release the mold from the container. This step is crucial to ensure every detail is perfectly captured, setting the stage for the next phase of craftsmanship.
Precision and patience are key as we bring this vision to life, one layer at a time.
Stay tuned for the next step in this artistic journey!

Behind the Scenes Part 3: Small & Large-Scale Mold Release

20 Mar, 2025, No comments
After patiently waiting for days for the glass to set on the plaster, the moment of truth arrives—releasing the mold. Whether working on small-scale intricate pieces or large, statement sculptures, the process requires precision, patience, and technique.

For small-scale releases, delicate handling ensures that fine details remain intact, revealing refined craftsmanship and intricate textures. On a larger scale, the challenge intensifies, requiring reinforced molds and strategic demolding techniques to unveil bold, striking forms.

No matter the size, each release is a transformation, where vision, skill, and artistry converge to bring a unique creation to life. Witness the journey from mold to masterpiece!

Simultaneously, the metalwork, such as the base and other supporting elements, is welded to complement the glass piece. Once the glass has set, the mold is no longer needed, and this phase involves breaking it to free the artwork. The molds are used only once, ensuring that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind.

This process, known as lost-wax or glass casting, emphasizes the exclusivity of each sculpture, as no mold can be reused. By mastering this technique, we transform raw materials into timeless masterpieces, creating art that embodies both skill and creativity.

After creating the molds, I'm now in the process of placing them in the kiln for fusing. Glass casting is an intricate art form that involves melting the glass into the mold, allowing it to take on the desired shape and color.

I can’t wait to see the final outcome of these unique pieces!

"Fiery Spirit" is a striking glass sculpture that embodies the dynamic energy and passion inherent in human creativity and ambition. The centerpiece of this artwork is a vibrant flame-shaped form, meticulously crafted from rich red glass. The fiery hues and intricate patterns within the glass are achieved through a careful fusion process, creating a visual effect that is both mesmerizing and evocative of the intense heat and transformative power of fire.

The open design within the flame symbolizes the endless possibilities and potential that lie within each individual, suggesting both the movement and growth that are fueled by a burning desire to achieve and excel.
